The Michigan Market Maker project is made possible by a unique partnership among the following public and private entities that have joined forces to promote and enhance Michigan’s food, agricultural and natural resources economy by linking producers and consumers.

Lead organization

The MSU Product Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources: http://www.productcenter.msu.edu/ 
Its mission is to improve economic opportunities in the Michigan agriculture, food and natural resource sectors. The Product Center helps to develop and commercialize high value, consumer-responsive products and businesses in the agriculture, food and natural resource sectors.

Project GREEEN: http://www.greeen.msu.edu/
Cooperative effort by plant-based commodities and businesses in cooperation with the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station, Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Department of Agriculture to advance Michigan's economy through its plant-based agriculture. Its mission is to develop research and educational programs, ensure and improve food safety, and protect and preserve the quality of the environment.

Michigan's largest agricultural lender, with several locations in Wisconsin as well.  It provides financial services to the agricultural industry, including short, intermediate and long-term loans, equipment and building leases, life and crop insurance, accounting and tax services, and appraisal service.

Working to provide long-term vision and strategic assistance to agri-food stakeholders in the context of global, consumer-driven markets.

Working to create a healthy future where sustainable Michigan farms feed Michigan people and Michigan people support these farms.

Michigan Food & Farming Systems (MIFFS): http://www.miffs.org/
A non-profit association whose purpose is to improve Michigan’s triple bottom line: economy, environment & communities through sustainable agriculture initiatives.

Food System Economic Partnership (FSEP): http://www.fsepmichigan.org/
Identifies economic opportunities and implements creative solutions to chronic issues relevant to the food system in a five-county region (Jackson, Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties).

Washtenaw County Agricultural Council: http://www.ewashtenaw.org/government/departments/extension
Serves as an advisory group to Washtenaw MSU Extension.  Farmers and agri-businesses work through the council to provide research, education, and outreach with urban and rural partnerships, resulting in agricultural development opportunities, sustainable communities, and healthy local economies.
